Turning to a Bright Future was formed to help identify possible communication problems between parents and their children in order to help bridge the gap in their relationships.

Establishing the proper tools of non-verbal or verbal communication with our youth is extremely important since many of the natural changes that occur in our teens during adolescence can very well interfere with the amount of effective communication that both parents and children may exchange during their daily interactions. It’s important to note that children learn how to communicate by watching their parents. If parents communicate openly and effectively chances are their child will too.

Ese Eyagbeshare

Founder of Turning To A Brighter Future, Mr. Ese Eyagbeshare, was born on August 18th, 1981. He holds a Bachelors’ of Science degree from The State University of New York at Plattsburgh.

Mr. Eyagbeshare, grew up in a strict Caribbean/African household in Brooklyn. His father was a strict authoritarian and as a young boy Ese began to rebel against his parents and was heavily influenced by his peers to skip school, and engage in unsavory behavior. His rebellious nature strained the relationship he had with his father, breaking down their ability to effectively communicate with each other; causing him to act out further.

This change occurred because someone unexpected saw the potential in Ese and took the time to show him the importance of attaining an education and doing the right thing. With a new outlook on life Mr. Eyagbeshare wanted to become a pediatrician and entered S.U.N.Y Morrisville where he obtained A.S. degree. He then went on to S.U.N.Y Plattsburgh where graduated with his B.S in Biology.

Upon graduating from college Mr. Eyagbeshare returned to his beloved Bedford Stuyvesant community, where he noticed that many of the young persons in his neighborhood were engaging in the same activities he did as an adolescent. Knowing the impact that having someone to mentor you had on his life, Mr. Eyagbeshare endeavored to create an organization that will have a positive impact on the life of young adults in his community and allow them to realize a better, brighter future for themselves; This organization he envisioned and brought to life is -Turning to a Bright Future.
